Seven of Swords

Upright/Well Dignified: There’s a lot that can be said about the seven of Swords in regards to the choices that will probably be coming up in your life. This particular Seven might be referring to a need to be a little unpredictable at times. Being aware of your surroundings and being willing to take chances on what you have observed. There might very well be times when it might be a good idea to take off with a few similar options, rather than choosing one and walking a single road. It’s a case of knowing your options and being able to take more than people expect, but also being able to handle what you’ve got.

While unpredictability can be important, one of the primary reasons that the Seven shows up is the need to be aware of not only your surroundings, but also what your rivals are doing. There might be a few folks out there with genuine enemies to watch out for. In either case, you know that there are things that you need to watch out for in the near future, as people may be trying to trip you up in your day to day so that they can find themselves ahead, at least in their own eyes.

Whether it’s for the sake of keeping friends or for deflecting enemies and rivals, there are times when there’s diplomacy called for. While it’s tough to be diplomatic when things seem to be conspiring against you, there are often things- going on behind the scenes that are waiting for you to show some sign of weakness and cracking under pressure. In this case, it’s not a case of being stronger than your opposition, but being smarter.

Reversed/Ill Dignified: Both the upright and the reversed Seven of Swords are about making choices, the reversed is a sign that you’re going to be less than decisive when the choices start to get a little heavier than you like. When this starts becoming a common thing, it’s time to step back for a moment and ask yourself another question.

That question is: Why is it so difficult to make up your mind? There’s a good chance that the choices that you’re trying to avoid making could be connected to something that’s been holding you back for a while, or worse, recognising that there are people that are part of your life at the moment that are holding you back from embracing the right choices.

As sad as it can be to finally realise this, it’s not as sad as the moment that you realise that you might have been sabotaging yourself and ensuring that you’re staying in your comfort zone, rather than expanding your worldview and being part of something that you’re unfamiliar with. It’s not an easy thing to recognise, but when you sabotage yourself, it makes it a lot easier for everyone else to sabotage your possible success. That’s only if they need to, of course.

It could simply be that you’ve taken on too much in regards to one particular aspect of your life and you may need to slow down and really analyse your options in order to pick which is the best one for you at this point in your life. You may have to balance one aspect with another, but you’ll make the right choice in the end as long as you’re fully aware of all of the options that are offered to you.
